Slack Threads Not Loading – What it Means and How to Fix

Are you having issues with Slack not loading Threads? Here’s what it might mean for you.

Slack Threads Not Loading

Are you having issues with your Slack Threads not loading? Threads are a commonly-used feature in Slack, the popular business communication app. They allow users to have organized discussions around a particular topic. However, users may have an issue getting Threads to load, and here’s why that might be and how to fix it.

Slack Threads Not Loading

Slack Threads not loading could be for a variety of different reasons. For one, the issue could be on Slack’s end, which would signify some server issues or connectivity problems. Second, the issue may be on the user’s end, which could mean the user has internet and connectivity issues.

Update: Slack is having connectivity issues on October 13, 2022. Some users are experiencing issues with Threads, Saved items, API hyperlinks, and group DMs/channels.

So, how do you tell if the issue with Threads not loading is on Slack’s end or your end? Good question, and there’s a simple answer.

Check Slack’s Status Page

Visit the Slack Status page to see if there are any known incidents, outages, or ongoing issues. The status page breaks down each Slack service, so you’ll know if different systems are having issues. Threads is considered a Messaging feature, so look for an incident report under the Messaging section.

If Slack is having problems, there’s not much that you, the user, can do about it aside from waiting it out patiently. Slack is used by millions of people worldwide, so it’s in the company’s best interest to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Of course, how long it takes to fix depends on the severity of the issue.

Let’s say there are no known issues on the Slack Status page. In that case, the issue may be with your internet connection. Can you connect to other websites and services fine? If not, consider restarting your modem and router and trying again.

If the issue persists and you are able to use your internet without any other issues, we recommend contacting Slack support at the Slack Help Center. There’s a section for troubleshooting connection issues that may help you out.
