How to Access the New Bing Search Engine

Microsoft-backed OpenAI is now officially integrated with Microsoft Bing, the second-largest search engine behind Google. The “new Bing” is slowly rolling out to users all over the world, revolutionizing the web search engine with new AI-powered features. For users looking to try out the new Bing search engine, here’s what you need to know to get started.

How to Access the New Bing Search Engine

To access the new AI-powered Bing search engine, you need to join the waitlist. Join the waitlist by going to Bing.com and tapping the Learn More button on the “Introducing the new Bing” widget.

You can access the new Bing faster by visiting the Bing Fast Access page and completing the following steps:

  1. Set Microsoft default on your PC
  2. Scan the QR code to install the Microsoft Bing App on your mobile device

Note that you will need to sign into your Bing (Microsoft) account for the service to recognize you’ve actually completed these steps. Once that’s done, you’ll get an email invite to preview the new Bing.

How to use the new Bing

After you have access to the new Bing, you can treat it like your personal research assistant, planner, and web-search aid. Ask your questions, complex or simple, and Bing will give you detailed replies summarized from many search results across the web. You can also use the chat experience to ask follow-up questions to refine the results.

Bing’s FAQ section suggests getting the most out of the new Bing by doing things like:

  1. Asking factual questions to get real answers
  2. Getting help writing poems, stories, and ideas
  3. Creating recipes using specific ingredients
  4. Helping plan trips
