If you want to add a little variety to your Instagram Stories, you can change the background color with just a few taps. Older versions of Instagram made it somewhat hard to set a good background color in Stories. With the latest updates, you now have complete control over changing your background color on an Instagram Story. Keep reading to learn how.
How to Change Background Color on Instagram Story
To change the background color on an Instagram Story:
- Click the + icon to create a new Instagram Story.
- Select a random picture from your gallery. This won’t be visible in your story.
- Press the ⋯ icon in the top right.
- Tap Draw.
- Select your background color from the options on the bottom. Tap and hold to get a wider selection of colors.
- Long hold the center of the screen to change the background color.
- Press the ✓ icon in the top right to save your background.
Now, you can add whatever photos you want over your background slide, but your background will stay whatever color you set it. If you want to set a picture as a background color, click the Stickers icon at the top of the screen, and press the add pages icon next to the camera icon. Hold and drag the edges of the image so it takes up the entire Story background.
