How to See Your Facebook Feed in Chronological Order
Ever wonder why Facebook shows you posts out of order? Here’s why, and how to display your Facebook feed in chronological order.
Facebook is one of the most popular social media apps worldwide, and it’s a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. However, depending on your number of friends, your timeline may become congested over time with lots of random posts and ads. To make things a bit more manageable and easier to look at, you might consider setting your Facebook feed to show the most recent posts. This guide will show you how to see your Facebook feed in Chronological order.
How to See Facebook Feed in Chronological Order
To see your Facebook feed in chronological order, open the Feeds tab. All the content you see on the Feeds tab is sorted by the most recent posts from people, Favorites, Pages, and groups you follow. In other words, you’ll see the newest posts first. The Feeds feature is not available on computers but is available on Android, iPad, iPhone, Facebook Lite, and through a mobile web browser.
How to See Most Recent Posts on Facebook Using the Mobile App
To see the most recent posts on Facebook:
- Launch Facebook on your mobile device.
- Tap the Feeds tab at the bottom of the screen.
- If you do not see the Feeds tab, tap on Menu and then tap Feeds.
Using the Feeds tab, all of the most recent content is displayed from the people you follow. You can filter the Feeds section further by tapping on Favorites, Friends, Groups, or Pages.
How to See Most Recent Posts on Facebook on a Computer
To see the most recent Facebook posts on a computer, visit Facebook and log in using your credentials. From the homepage, tap See More on the left menu, and then click Most Recent. Your Facebook feed will temporarily show the most recent posts from your Friends, Groups, Pages, and Favorites, but it will eventually return to the default setting.
What Order Does Facebook Normally Show Posts?
Facebook uses something called ranking to order the posts shown on your Facebook feed. Rankings are influenced by several factors, including:
- The frequency in which you interact with posts from friends, groups, or pages, with friends and family being prioritized.
- The types of posts you interact with (photos, videos, links).
- How recently something was posted.
- The engagement of a post.
Facebook uses these criteria, among other things, to personalize your feed and create a diverse stream of posts from various sources.
