To move an object in Photoshop: 

  1. Left click the layer you want to edit.
  2. Select the Content Aware Move tool in your main toolbar on the left side. Click and hold the Spot Healing Brush tool under the Eyedropper to see the tool.

  3. Trace around the object you want to move. You can leave an allowance surrounding the object. 
  4. Move the object to where you want it to be. 
  5. Hit the Checkmark icon at the top of the screen.

And there you go! The Content Aware Move tool is easier to use in less-busy photos with the same color background, but will work for most scenarios. You may have to clean up with the Spot Healing Brush tool if you want to sell the effect. You can play around with the tool until you become good at using it.
